Marketing Director David Hill is going to Alaska to ride in a 100 mile bike ride. It will be done on a mountain bike with 4" wide tires and 15 to 20 pounds of gear.
It all started with an e-mail to a friend of mine who lives in Wasilla Alaska who had competed in the Iditarod several years ago. I sent him a message, "I'll bet you know Sara Palin or someone associated with the Palin family." He knows someone who knows Todd's family, Wasilla isn't that big.
I asked him what outdoor adventures he was planning for the winter months and he mentioned a bike ride on part of the Iditarod trail during the month of February. This is right down my alley for I have been riding a mountain bike 12 months out of the year since 1982. After researching the Susitna 100 and talking with Fred Chassman the owner of Healthworks, the decision was made to make the trex to Alaska and ride the 100 miles with my friend.
Healthworks is my corporate sponsor and along with the bike ride I will also be raising funds for a very important program in Concord NH.
This is all evolving and as I know more I will post it.
